Community Phase

  • Jim Hubbard

    • Vice President, Chief of Staff, Mercury Marine
    • Jim Hubbard has been a Fond du Lac resident for more than 17 years. He counts physical fitness training and volunteer work in the community among his hobbies.

      Jim is the Vice President, Chief of Staff at Mercury Marine in Fond du Lac. He has been with Brunswick Corporation for more than 35 years, and with Mercury Marine since 1990.

      His education includes a B.A. in Mathematics from Lycoming College, Williamsport, PA; an M.A. in Labor and Industrial Relations from UI - Champagne/Urbana and a J.D. - Law from the University of Santa Clara, Santa Clara Califormia.

      Jim's civic involvement is broad and includes:

  • Marty Ison-Kocos

    • Director of Marketing and Financial Development for the Fond du Lac Family YMCA
    • Marty Ison-Kocos, a graduate of Concordia University, has nearly 20 years experience in public relations, marketing, fund development, community building, education and training within non-profit organizations.

      For more than eleven years, she held the position of Executive Director of the Fond du Lac Area United Way. During her tenure, in addition to coordinating the annual United Way campaign, she established a Leadership Giving program, a United Way Youth board, and mobilized hundreds of volunteers through an annual Day of Sharing. In 2000, in recognitions of her leadership, Marty was one of 2 United Way directors in the country to receive the Gus Shea Memorial Scholarship Award presented by the United Way of America. In 2005 she was awarded the "City of Hope" award by Marian College for her championing of diversity and advocacy for cultural understanding.

      She has served on numerous boards including the Special Needs Advisory Board at Moraine Park Technical College, Fond du Lac County Safe and Stable Families Board of Directors, and has been an Ambassador for the Fond du Lac Area Association of Commerce. She currently serves as Vice President of the Board of Directors of the Brunswick Public Foundation.

      After "pre-tirement" from the United Way, Marty now works in a part-time capacity as Director of Marketing and Financial Development for the Fond du Lac Family YMCA.

      Marty is married to Stan Kocos, Executive Director of the Fond du Lac Boys & Girls Club.

    • Stan Kocos has been involved in a nonprofit agency management capacity for more than twenty years. He has been employed by three of the nation's largest 501 (c)(3) organizations, during which time he garnered Employee of the Year honors with Goodwill Industries of Milwaukee and later assumed a key role in a nonprofit merger that resulted in the creation of the sixth largest AIDS Service Organization in the United States.

      He has also served in the capacity of board member and advisor for numerous local, state and national entities and is the current chair person of the Wisconsin Afterschool Network. In recognition of his successful coalition building and advocacy efforts on behalf of citizens with disabilities, Stan was an invited guest of President George H. W. Bush for the White House signing of the historic Americans With Disabilities Act in 1988. Stan has been the Chief Professional Officer of the Boys & Girls Club of Fond du Lac since 2002, leading local efforts that have resulted in a tripling of youth membership in the organization and a nearly three-fold growth in operating revenue.

Our progress...

Our campaign began in March, 2006. We had a great start, thanks to all our campaign volunteers. Our Community Phase has raised $509,000 from individuals just like you. Help us make our goal before December, and secure the Kresge Foundation grant.
